As Liverpool continue their Premier League title charge, they travel to face a Leicester side who look almost guaranteed for the drop. With the stakes high and attacking momentum on their side, I’m tipping Liverpool to score in both halves at 1.72.
Will Leicester be Relegated this Weekend?
Leicester have conceded an average of 2.25 goals per game this season, the second-highest total in the league with 72 goals conceded, only behind Southampton with 77. Worryingly, they’ve conceded in both halves in 12 of their 32 matches – that’s 37% of their games. If Leicester lose to Liverpool they will be automatically relegated from the Premier League.
They’ve not scored at home since the 8th of December in a 2-2 draw against Brighton and have played eight home games since then. Defensively, they remain woeful, conceding in two of their last five games across both halves — a trend that plays perfectly into Liverpool’s attacking strengths going forward.
Do Liverpool have one hand on the Trophy?
Liverpool have the most goals in the Premier League this season with 74 with an average of 2.31 per game. They’re ahead of Manchester City with 62 goals. Mohamed Salah leads the Golden Boot race with 27 goals with Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak chasing on 21, however I expect Salah and Liverpool to remain prolific in front of goal till the end of the campaign.
They’ve scored in both halves in three of their last five matches. This also happened in their previous meeting with The Foxes where they won 3-1 at Anfield. With the title race tight, Arne Slot’s men are unlikely to ease off.
Given Leicester’s poor defensive form, Liverpool’s scoring record and the huge lift with Salah and Van Dijk signing new contracts, I expect Liverpool to score in both halves and at 1.72, it’s well worth a punt.
