Premier League | Nottingham Forest v Man Utd

Nottingham Forest are back in action against Man Utd as the Premier League returns after a two week hiatus. The home side reached the FA Cup semi-final over Brighton after a long 120 minutes of football which ended in a Nottingham Forest victory on penalties. With only two days to recover from that hard fought win, Forest won’t want to drop points against a United side who have been poor this season. I’m backing a 1.80 bet builder with the following two selections: Nottingham Forest- Double Chance and Under 3.5 Match Goals.

Magical Season For Forest

Currently, Forest sit in third place in the Premier League, six points ahead of Manchester City. Their home record has been particularly impressive, remaining unbeaten since November and securing eight wins in their last ten home matches. They will be hoping for European football next season and with the form they are in, they should be able to achieve this even with the extra cup games at the end of the season.

They have proven to be a hard team to score against with only 35 goals conceded in the league so far, which is the 4th highest this season, a defensive stat they lead in is clean sheets with a very impressive 41% of their games seeing a shut out. Man Utd should find it hard to score at the City Ground which has turned into a fortress this season with an average of 0.71 goals conceded a game on home soil.

Mixed Season for Man Utd

On the other hand, Manchester United have faced a wild season as they find themselves in 13th place in the league standings. Despite their struggles, they have shown resilience in away fixtures, losing only one of their last eight away games. However, their inconsistency has been evident with more losses (12) than wins (10) this season, something that wouldn’t have been believed a decade ago.

Nottingham Forest won the reverse fixture at Old Trafford 3-2 with in form striker Chris Wood on the scoresheet. However, he is likely to be missing for this game as the striker picked up an injury whilst on international duty with New Zealand. This is another reason why Under 3.5 Match Goals looks a solid pick. Man Utd also lead this stat in the league with only 34% of their games seeing four goals or more.
