Liverpool Flying High
We’re set for a game full of goals at Anfield this Sunday as Liverpool welcome Man United. The Reds have scored in both halves in their last three Premier League games, they’ve achieved this in 11 out of a possible 18 games so far this season. I’m tipping Liverpool to score in both halves at 1.80.
Liverpool are the leagues top scorers with an impressive 45 goals. They showed their goalscoring capabilities again in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford earlier in the season, where they scored in both halves.
Despite transfer rumours from Real Madrid for Trent Alexander Arnold. Liverpool boss, Arne Slot has confirmed that the English right back will be involved on Sunday. Trent continues to show why Liverpool need to keep him as he scored a spectacular long range goal against West Ham last week.
The Egyptian King, Mo Salah has been in the form of his life currently being the Premier League’s top scorer with 17 and tops the assists table with 13. He has also both scored and assisted in the most games in a single Premier League season with eight and we are only in January. Will we see him shine again and add to his 12 Premier League goals against the Red Devils?
Man United’s Poor Form
It has been a tough start for United boss, Ruben Amorim and even more difficult of late, losing their last three games. Their last win came against rivals Manchester City with two late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo. However, it wasn’t the turning point they were after.
The last time Man United kept a clean sheet was in their 4-0 win at home to Everton at the beginning of December, they have played in six league games since then. This highlights the defensive issues that they’re facing and increases the likelihood of them conceding in both halves at Anfield.
Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte are welcomed back to the side after both serving suspensions but will bolster their chances in the midfield against a strong Liverpool side. Joe Gomez’s injury is set to keep him out of action for several weeks, but Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate are scheduled to resume full training on Friday and might be included on Sunday.
