We open the Opening Stage with two exciting matches, one of which is between Virtus Pro and MIBR. Virtus Pro, known for their slow playstyle, will have to face the fast-paced MIBR players. In my opinion, Virtus Pro is one of the most monotonous teams to watch, and I have to admit that I often lose interest when they play. However, I believe this match could turn out to be quite entertaining, and MIBR definitely has a realistic chance.
Arguments for playing the tip:
- When was the last time Virtus Pro played a truly good match? We have to go back 7-8 weeks to find their last impressive performance. Regardless of how their Major campaign unfolds, this Virtus Pro lineup seems to be on the decline. There is too much turmoil within the team.
- Three weak matches were fortunately not enough to eliminate Virtus Pro from RMR, but their performances from match 1 to match 4 were far from impressive. It was almost painful to watch, and it’s remarkable that they even made it through.
- I give MIBR a slight advantage in the veto phase of this match. I expect that we might end up on Ancient, which is a map that clearly favors MIBR. However, if the match were to end up on Vertigo or Anubis, I wouldn’t be worried, as MIBR has also shown strength on these maps.
- If MIBR gets into their rhythm, I see them as the stronger team offensively. MIBR has impressive firepower, which could be difficult for Virtus Pro to match once they gain momentum. I believe it will be a close match, but I give MIBR a slight edge in terms of odds, and therefore, I feel confident about a potential MIBR victory.
- This odds offer is particularly attractive because we are dealing with a BO1 match. Statistically, Virtus Pro is not a team that thrives in the BO1 format, which makes this matchup even more intriguing.
Keep an eye on:
- MIBR made it through RMR easily with an impressive win over Complexity. However, their form leading up to these matches wasn’t particularly strong, and it’s worth noting whether they can maintain this level of play.
- Virtus Pro can be a tough team to play against. If MIBR gets off to a poor start, they could risk having a long and frustrating day at the office.
- Virtus Pro showed strong morale in their RMR matches, fighting their way through a difficult task. Their confidence could have been boosted, making them dangerous even when not in top form.
- Never underestimate Virtus Pro. They have a unique ability to fight until the very end, and even when they’re behind, they rarely give up. It’s rare to see them lose by a large margin, and their fighting spirit can often surprise their opponents.
