Best Of Bets Tips: 1.35 Shadow Rigging Supports Brain Tumour Research Handicap (Class 5) (4yo+ 0-75) 7f

1.35 Shadow Rigging Supports Brain Tumour Research Handicap (Class 5) (4yo+ 0-75)  7f

There’s a competitive contest in prospect here but two stand out off the page and it will be a surprise if they are not vying for the win come the business end.

Macs Dilemma arrives on the back of a hat-trick (5.5f-6f, all on good to firm) and has won over 7f. He showed a really good attitude when winning here last time, which came after a 9lb rise. He’s gone up another 4lb and will need improvement if he is to defy a career-high mark. Having said that, he couldn’t be in better form, acts on good to soft and should again be a major player.

The other one of major interest is Sir Plato, who is a standing dish here after five course wins, three of those being over C&D. The most recent of those was last Saturday. He has a 4lb penalty to carry for that ready 0-80 success.

He acts on good to soft. There are nagging doubts over his inconsistency as a whole but rarely throws in a bad run at this track and that is key for me. He will take some beating.

Verdict:
Not the easiest of races for punters but the way that SIR PLATO won last time, plus his clear love of this track, suggests that he can defy his 4lb penalty. Macs Dilemma is an obvious danger and has to be feared. Others who could go well are Helm Rock, who was unlucky to be hampered on leaving the stalls at York last time and finished strongly, and Society Lion, who ran his best race for some time last time out at Brighton.
