The Gunners form
We are at the penultimate stage of the season and Arsenal know how important it is to stay within touching distance of Manchester City. The Gunners have been in fine goal-scoring form of late, hitting the back of the net 13 times since their last defeat at home to Aston Villa in April. They play a weakened Manchester United side with a long injury list, that’s why I’m taking Arsenal to score in both halves at 1.80.
The Gunners can’t stop scoring at the moment averaging an impressive 2.44 goals a game and conceding just 0.78 per game. Arsenal’s attack has been bolstered by their summer signings, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz. They have been proving the doubters wrong by been on fine form since the turn of the new year. The pair have 23 goals between them and will be looking to punish Man Utd at Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s injury list
On the other hand, Manchester United have been struggling with injuries of late, especially in defence with a 36-year-old Johnny Evans being their only registered first-team defender. A 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park showed their frailties at the back without Maguire and Varane, who again are set to miss the game against Arsenal. To further highlight Manchester United’s poor defensive form, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven premier league matches. This dates back to the 9th of March when they beat Everton 2-0.
The Red Devils will also be looking at their FA Cup final clash with Manchester City this month, being their only chance of lifting silverware this season. With this in mind, I don’t think Erik Ten Hag will be rushing any players back for this match. Arsenal to score in both halves at 1.80.
