Atalanta were one of the surprise teams of the 2023/24 Europa League campaign. They shocked Liverpool with a 0-3 win at Anfield to ruin Jurgen Klopp’s farewell season. If that wasn’t impressive enough, in the final, the Italian side beat Bayer Leverkusen. The Germans were heavy favourites due to winning the Bundesliga and not losing a single game in all competitions. However Lookman and co denied Xabi Alonso’s side a historic treble.
