UEFA Nations League | England vs Greece | Tip:

England face Greece at Wembley in their third game of the UEFA Nations League on Thursday evening. Both sides have started impressively winning their opening matches so far in Group B2.

Under interim manager Lee Carsley, England have beaten Finland and the Republic of Ireland 2-0 in the group comfortably. The Three Lions have won five of their last six games.

Interestingly, all these games have seen under 3.5 goals. In fact, they have seen under 3.5 goals in 14/15 matches. This England side do not conceded many goals, however they have struggled to win by big margins recently.

In the Euros, England were involved in a lot of games which produced minimal goals and big chances particularly in the group stages, scoring just two goals and were disappointingly held to a 0-0 draw against Slovenia. The lack of goals and attacking threat led to criticism. Lee Carsley will be hoping he can get his side playing in a more expansive and entertaining manner.

Greece are currently top of the group following a 3-0 win over Finland and a 2-0 over the Republic of Ireland. They are yet to concede a goal in the Nations League with four clean sheets in their last six, demonstrating their impressive defensive abilities which will give them encouragement ahead of their trip to Wembley.

All of their last five games have seen under 3.5 goals. Against top opposition they have been tough to play against over the last 12 months. In June, they narrowly lost to Germany 2-1 and managed to draw 2-2 to France at the end of 2023 as well as losing to the Netherlands 1-0 after a last-minute winner.

Greece can be competitive against the top nations.
