UEFA Champions League | AC Milan vs Liverpool

Liverpool's Luis Diaz

Dazzling Diaz

The Champions League is back and tonight we have a massive game as Liverpool travel to San Siro to face AC Milan. One player we will be focusing on is Colombian international, Luis Diaz, who has had a great start to the season averaging one goal contribution per game. He will want to build on that this Champions League campaign. In his first four games this season he has had four shots on target, he also is not shy on shooting with a total of nine attempts on goal.

I’m going for Luis Diaz 1+ shot on target at 1.90. I would suggest placing this bet on Paddy Power due to their super sub incentive, which means if Diaz gets subbed off, the bet is still alive with the player replacing him.

AC Milan’s Form

AC Milan have started their Serie A campaign poorly with just five points from their opening four games. Their first win came against 10-man Venezia in a 4-0 victory. They sit mid-table, four points off Napoli in 1st. This Rossoneri side have conceded six goals so far this season so they could be easier to break down by this very attacking Liverpool side with more chances being presented to them and one of their most dangerous players, Diaz.

Tammy Abraham signed from Roma in the summer and is looking likely to start after picking up his first goal for the Italian Giant’s last weekend. They are missing key players such as Alessandro Florenzi and Ismail Bennacer who are sidelined with long-term injuries.

Liverpool’s Predicted Squad

Liverpool have won their previous five games against Milan, with the Italian side being unable to keep a single clean sheet in that time. I don’t see Liverpool Manager, Arne Slot, making too many changes to his starting XI despite their loss against Nottingham Forest last weekend. This includes Diaz who has picked up three goals and one assist so far this season. His direct approach with the ball will certainly get him into some goal scoring opportunities so this tip is worth backing.

Liverpool are back in the Champions League after spending a season in the Europa League. Their supporters will definitely feel like they are back where they should be. The Reds travel to Italy with a near fully fit squad, with the exception of Harvey Elliot who was injured on international duty. Federico Chiesa is named in the squad as he travels back to his homeland.
