Premier League | Brighton v Man Utd

Strong Starts

This week’s early kick off treats us to Brighton v Man Utd. Both sides made good starts to the new Premier League campaign with Brighton beating Everton and Man Utd with a customary late winner at Old Trafford. However Man Utd will be wary of how tough of a test this will be, especially with their poor record against The Seagulls. We’re expecting goals here so I’m tipping Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Match Goals at 1.80.

Seagulls Soaring

Brighton comfortably won 3-0 away to Everton with Kaoru Mitoma, Danny Welbeck and Simon Adingra scoring the goals. The Seagulls were predicted to be in for a bumpy season after former boss Roberto De Zerbi left. The Italian manager led the Seagulls to The Europa League knockout rounds which will be difficult to top. Fabian Hurzeler who led St Pauli to the Bundesliga has taken over at The Amex and at 31, has become the youngest ever full time manager of a Premier League team.

Over recent seasons, Brighton have had the better of Man Utd. In the past five Premier League meetings, The Seagulls have won four of those losing just once. Surprisingly, the home side are slight favourites for Saturday’s clash. Expect drama as always when Brighton v Man Utd is the fixture.

Zirkzee To the Rescue

Man Utd beat Fulham with an 83rd Minute goal from Joshua Zirkzee as the home side nicked a 1-0 win. However, they had a golden chance to double the scoring after Marcus Rashford played in Alejandro Garnacho who somehow put the ball wide.

Man Utd lost to their rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield and will want to quickly forget about that with back to back Premier League wins. After dropping out of Champions League qualifications places last year, Man Utd will certainly be expected to return or Ten Haag’s time at the club will look bleak.

Even in the early stages of the season, every point matters so Man Utd will go for the win here but they will concede chances to an attacking Brighton team who play at home for the first time this season. I’m predicting goals to be on the cards in this one.
