Bournemouth vs Chelsea Build-Up
Bournemouth host Chelsea in the Saturday night kick-off in a game which promises goals. Chelsea can leapfrog their opponents in the table if they manage to pick up three points on the South coast. In the six games combined for the two sides this season, five have ended with both teams scoring. Chelsea are joint second so far for goals scored with seven in just three games. Bournemouth are seventh with five goals however sit third for expected goals.
I’m going with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals in the Match at 1.70.
Full of goals
In three of the last five Premier League meetings between the two sides, today’s bet has landed. They last played each other on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League last season. A rare goal from Moises Caicedo was made even more memorable as he scored from the halfway line!
In league games that Chelsea played last season, there were 3.68 goals per game on average. The Blues, in 23 of the 38 matches last season, both teams scored and there were over 2.5 goals. On the road, Chelsea see even more goals and plenty of them. Their last 10 away Premier League matches have seen an average of 4.4 goals.
In Bournemouth’s case, they averaged 3.18 goals per game and both teams scored over 2.5 goals in the game in 20 of the 38 games they played in last term.
Recent wins
Bournemouth’s incredible late comeback to beat Everton 3-2, will go down as one of the most entertaining games of the season so far. Two goals behind with little over five minutes to play, their Goodison victory will give the Cherries confidence they can score anytime in the game, regardless of the score line.
Chelsea have conceded on average one goal per game this season, however they tend to make up for it going forward with their fast counter attacks. A prime example being their 6-2 win against Wolves.
Antoine Semenyo is playing his best football and is key to Bournemouth’s attack, especially in Dominic Solanke’s absence. He has two goals and one assist so far this season and will be hoping to have more goal involvements on Saturday. Chelsea’s dynamic duo, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke have a combined four goals and five assists between them so far this season, the Cherries’ defence will need to be at their best if they want to prevent either player from scoring. This fixture is set to be anything but boring.
