Euro 2024 | Denmark vs England

A Slow Start

Denmark and England fans are not overly impressed with their respective teams’ starts to the tournament. Denmark conceded late on to Slovenia after dominating the first half, they will be frustrated they didn’t put the game to bed in the first half.

Where as England secured three points against Serbia with a 1-0 win. However fans complained of a lack of quality chances going forward. Saying that, I don’t see anything but an England win on Thursday. At odds of 1.72 this provides good value.

Danish Disappointment

Denmark will be gutted not to have picked up all three points on Sunday. They had control of the match from the 17th minute after a beautifully worked goal finished off by Christian Eriksen. However, the Danes couldn’t find a second and were punished by a fantastic strike from Slovenia.

Denmark know England will be their toughest game of the group stage and will want to pick up a point here to ease the pressure going into the final group game against Serbia.

A Lacklustre Win for England

Despite picking up three points on Sunday, England showed a lack of creativity up front. The Three Lions only created five attempts on goal which was the lowest of any team in the Euros at the time. Not something you want to see when you have the likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane in attack. This is where fan frustration and disappointment stems from.

However a shining light was Jude Bellingham who scored and covered nearly every blade of grass on the pitch. He won ‘man of the match’ and will be vital against Denmark. England will want to show their fans that they can play exciting football and with the abundance of quality, I can’t see Denmark getting any points here.
