The Europa League Final Teams
Dublin is the city hosting the 2023/24 Europa League Final with Italian side Atalanta taking on German outfit Bayer Leverkusen in what looks to be an entertaining end to end game. Both sides aren’t scared of attacking and don’t like to sit back. I’m backing Both Teams To Score at 1.80.
Xabi Alonso’s Dream Season
Bayer Leverkusen have had a campaign they’ll never forget thanks to their manager Xabi Alonso’s leadership. They celebrated winning the Bundesliga on Saturday in front of their home fans stopping Bayern Munich from winning their 12th title in a row. If that wasn’t special enough, they went the whole season unbeaten winning 28 times in the 34 game season scoring a whopping 89 goals. They have conceded just 24 which is the league lowest.
Attacking Atalanta
Atalanta have found their form at the right time winning seven of their last nine games in all competitions including an amazing win against Liverpool at Anfield. Former West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca is Atalanta’s top scorer in the competition with six goals. He will be looking to continue his goalscoring run against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League Final.
Season Overviews
Bayer Leverkusen are on course to win a historic treble if they can beat Atalanta and Kaiserslautern in the DFB Pokal. Atalanta have two Serie A games left and could climb to third if they win their game in hand. This will qualify the Italians for Champions League football next season. Atalanta have only failed to score once in their 12 Europa League games. On the other hand, Bayer Leverkusen have scored in every game and are undefeated in all competitions this season.
