Euro 2024 | Quarter-Finals

First Round of Quarter-Finals

What a day of Euro 2024 Quarter-Finals action we have on Friday. This is the side of the draw with the favourites in and it has produced two mouth-watering ties. First up we have Spain who have won all four of their games so far up against the hosts who have looked like they can beat anyone. Afterwards, we have Portugal v France. In comparison, these two sides have displayed disappointing performances, not just for their home fans but for the neutral too.

In this article, you will find my analysis on each team’s Euro 2024 so far as well as a bet for each game.

Spain v Germany

Many may find this game to be a thriller whilst at the same time it as a shame that we’ll lose one of these great teams from the tournament. Currently, the two nations have the best record at this year’s Euros. Spain are the only team left in the tournament with a 100% win rate, possessing a solid spine to their team with a mix of experience and youth.

Germany have won three games and drawn once so far this tournament and have scored the most goals with 10, just ahead of Spain who have found the net nine times. Although Spain and Germany have shown strong back lines with a combined three goals conceded, these two stand out teams of the tournament will both utilise their attacks. I’m backing the two top scorers of Euro 2024 to each find the back of the net with Both Teams to Score at 1.72.

Portugal v France

Here we have my two picks for who were going to meet in the final of Euro 2024. However after disappointing group stage finishes the two sides meet in the Euro 2024 Quarter-Finals. With such depth in attacks, many thought these two would be scoring goals for fun but they have been frustrated. Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo have only scored once between them with Ronaldo missing a penalty in his last game.

France failed to top their group which led them to a round of 16 clash with Belgium where they scraped through with a late own goal. Whereas Portugal won a penalty shootout against Slovenia after a goalless draw after 120 minutes.

As previously mentioned both teams are attacking but can’t seem to score. This can be seen by both teams corner stats. Portugal are taking on average nine corners and France are averaging 6.5 corners a game. Both teams will be wary of their poor performances and won’t want to take many risks. I expect a similar match with plenty of attacks without clinical finishing.

My tip for this match is Both Teams to Take 4+ Corners Each at evens (2.00).
