Italy start their defence of the European title against Albania at Signal Iduna Park today.
You would’ve seen the phrase ‘group of death’ thrown about multiple times in the weeks leading up to the Euros for Albania, who will also face Spain and Croatia in Group B.
Italy go into this game on good form. They are unbeaten in six having conceded just one goal in their last five. I am not fully convinced on how far the Italians will get this competition and retaining the trophy will be difficult.
I feel their team lacks the usual Italian depth and firepower. However I do believe they’ll have too much for Albania here.
I am looking at the Under Goals market here. I think this one will be a really tight and cautious encounter. With Spain & Croatia making up the rest of the group, I think Italy will want to get the job done here.
They are a side who can protect a lead well. Italy may not get a lead early, I’m expecting Albania to put up a tight defensive performance.
