Tip for the tournament:
Heroic to take the trophy @ 3.50 at Unibet – 2units
This tournament could very well be the jumping board for Heroic for this year’s RMR, which will begin in about 4 weeks’ time. In my opinion this is an important tournament for Heroic and I’ll expect them to take it very seriously. A victory in this tournament can give them a lot of confidence + keeping up with their great game is crucial for keeping the team spirit high.
Arguments for playing the tip:
- Heroic was really close to playing in the finals in IEM RIO 2024 – semi stupid mistakes and nerves kept them from the victory. With that being said, a semifinal is more than approved for the Danish team.
- A great victory against G2 and Vitality and furthermore pushing Natus Vincere to a third map (a match which they should have won) – It will give them a lot of confidence and beliefs in the team. I’m impressed by how well they played.
- In my opinion there’s only 2 teams that can win this tournament. Funny enough it’s Heroic from GR: B and TheMongolz from GR: A. If I should mention a little outsider, which I believe can surprise a bit, I’ll be B8. NIP has a stand in, and the rest of the team is in a downwards spiral with their shape. There’s not a lot of teams that impress me in this tournament.
- A team with a Teses and Nertz close to their A-level at the moment. Then Heroic looks like a completed team with the skills everybody says they had. Degster is lacking a bit, but there’s progress. Heroic looks dangerous and has the most dangerous roster. The same goes for TheMongolz. I believe Heroic looks like a better team and have a fine map pool for this tournament.
To sum up why I personally believe Heroic is the way to go for the winner of this tournament:
Individually they are close to being the strongest team. They’re joining this tournament in excellent shape. They MUST continue their great game leading up to this year’s RMR. There are several Tier2 teams that in my opinion doest have to get a chance.
There are a few weaknesses and they’ll be listed below.
Keep an eye on:
- Even though Heroic has had some days of it has been some hectic days in Brazil/RIO. Jetlag, long travel time etc.. The break hasn’t been long.
- We’re still missing Sjuush and Degster peaking. They have in my opinion a little longer before they get their a-level. It is especially important that Degster hit his a-level.
- Looking at the odds, TheMongolz are favorite to win this tournament. My opinion is that it’s 50/50 between those two teams who will win the title. TheMongolz are great mentally and won’t give up easily. A great collected and stabile team. Crazy A-level on the day.
- We’ll begin with Bo1 matches. Everybody knows that anything can happen in those matches. If Heroic isn’t at their peak, Rebels could very well be a mouthful. 2 defeats and you’re out.
- Heroic got the more difficult group. Every team can on the day beat Heroic.
