Championship | Leeds v Sheffield Utd

Friday night football brings us a Championship blockbuster in Leeds versus Sheffield Utd at Elland Road. The two Yorkshire sides clash as they battle it out for the automatic promotion places, and tensions will be high as the Whites can go level on points with the away side if they win, which the bookies are predicting.

However, I don’t think this will be smooth sailing as Sheffield Utd sit 2nd in the league, keeping six clean sheets in a row and are the only team to remain undefeated. I’m predicting a scrappy game here and backing over 4.5 Cards at 1.700.

Leeds have seen an average of 2.44 cards received per game whilst the Blades see an average of 2.56. The home side also commit the fourth-highest number of fouls per match with an average of 13.8 whereas the Blades commit 12.7 a game. To further prove the intense nature of this fixture, there has been a red card in the last three head to heads and a yellow in the first half hour of their last five clashes!

The hosts have two players who have already received four bookings whereas Sheffield Utd have three players in just nine league games so far. I’d expect the usual suspects to be even more up for this one, especially as we are seeing more cards dished out than before!
