England Receive Further Criticism
Throughout Euro 2024, the England players have continued to show a lack of quality in the first three games. Gareth Southgate and the team have received criticism from the entire nation, especially with their lack of ambition to score goals. From a defensive side, England have faced the least amount of attempts out of any team in the tournament so far. I see this game being a low scoring affair, so I’m going Under 2.5 Match Goals at odds of 1.73.
Slovakia to Progress?
Slovakia managed to finish third with four points, equalling every other nation in Group E. Fortunately for Slovakia, they progressed as one of the best third placed teams, beating Ukraine on goal difference. This side will be difficult to break down and have shown some impressive performances including a shock 1-0 win against Belgium in Matchday 1.
Southgate to Change System?
After a goalless draw with Slovenia, where England showed limited signs of wanting to win the match. The nation is crying out for a change in system with Phil Foden going into the number 10 role and Jude Bellingham pushing back to CM. This is where we can really see Foden’s potential at a major international tournament.
To prove this tip is worth backing, all of England’s group stage games have ended with less than three goals. England captain, Harry Kane has been dropping too deep to receive the ball when he should be further up the pitch, where he is most dangerous.
This should be an interesting game where England need to be back to their best to beat Slovakia and proceed to the Quarter Finals.
