Premier League | Manchester Utd vs Fulham

Manchester United

A New Premier League Season

The long awaited return of the Premier League 2024/25 season kicks off on Friday evening where Manchester United face Fulham at Old Trafford.

Fans all over the world have been excited all summer for football to start again and what a great game we have here! Fulham have lost four of their last five games against Manchester United. However, they have not gone down without a fight.

They have scored in four of those five previous matches. I predict this to be a close game but the Red Devils will be too strong for Fulham. That’s why I’m going Manchester United to win and both teams to score at 2.87

Manchester United Build Up

Man United last season had a mix of emotions. They finished in 8th position with 60 points, eight off the Champions League spots. Fortunately, they managed to beat a lacklustre Manchester City in the FA Cup final to lift the trophy and cement Europa league football this season.

Manchester City came back for vengeance with a win on penalties in the Community Shield last weekend. A great Alejandro Garnacho goal off the bench put Man United in the lead but City were able to grab a late equaliser from Bernardo Silva to take the game straight to penalties.

Erik Ten-Hag will have a massive headache ahead of his Friday evening’s game with injuries including their new signing, Leny Yoro who sustained a foot injury which required surgery and is out for three months. Rasmus Hojland also picked up a hamstring injury in the same pre-season game against Arsenal, he’s expected back in September. With key signings from Bayern Munich, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, they will fit in well at the back but it still leaves their forward line short of players.

Fulham’s Star Summer Signing

Fulham finished 13th last season in the Premier League and their boss, Marco Silva will be aiming for a top half finish this campaign.

Fulham have done some good business this summer transfer window with the signing of Arsenal midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe which fills a hole in midfield after losing Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich. Smith Rowe is expected to start on Friday evening. Fulham striker, Rodrigo Muniz had a great second half of last season with nine goals and one assist. I think he will push on and score more goals this campaign.
