Premier League | Chelsea v Man City

Chelsea v Man City

Super Sunday conjures up a mouth-watering tie with Chelsea v Man City. The Premier League is back for another tantalising season and there is no waiting around for the first big fixture. We see a new-look Chelsea side with Enzo Maresca at the helm at Stamford Bridge alongside new summer signings. Man City have been utterly dominant with four back-to-back titles and will eyeing up a ninth Premier League trophy in just 14 seasons.

The last time these two met at Stamford Bridge, we witnessed a spectacular 4-4 draw and I can see more goals here. My tip for this game is Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Match Goals at 1.72

New Manager, Same Chelsea?

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly surprised many when he sacked Mauricio Pochettino after just a year in the job. The American replaced him with Enzo Maresca who lead Leicester to promotion at the first time of asking after their relegation from the top tier of English football. Interestingly, Maresca was Manchester City’s assistant coach during 2022-2023 and would’ve learnt a lot from Pep Guardiola. As we’ve seen with Mikel Arteta, Pep can help nurture coaches into managers and with Chelsea’s already strong output, Man City may struggle to keep a clean sheet.

Five Star City?

Man City won a record fourth title in a row becoming the first Premier League club to do so. You may have thought after finally winning the Champions League in 2022/23, City would slowly lose momentum and motivation. However, that has not been the case after they pipped Arsenal again to the Premier League title. Don’t be surprised if they come out blocks firing against Chelsea.
