    While Wales will just be thankful they beat Italy last week to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon, France will be giving their all and holding out for a miracle on Saturday. Les Bleus made key mistakes in their all-action clash with Ireland earlier in the tournament and that defeat may end up costing them the championship.
    In Antoine Dupont, France have the player of the 2023 Six Nations – and arguably the best player in world rugby right now. But they will end this tournament potless unlike England can conjour up a miracle in Dublin. Expect the French to fulfil their side of the bargain by beating Wales in Paris – they are overwhelming favourites to do so, at 1/25. A bonus point win will put some pressure on the Irish.

    Ireland vs England, Saturday 11 March @ 5pm

    A title procession at the Aviva Stadium, or can England poop the Ireland party by producing some kind of response to their drubbing by France last week? The former seems far likelier, given the respective form of the two teams. Ireland have been inspired all tournament; England looked shellshocked and shattered at Twickenham last time out.
    The bookies, just like at the Cheltenham races this week, are backing the Irish and with good reason. Andy Farrell’s side are 1/8 to complate a sensational Grand Slam and Triple Crown. It’s not often England are made such huge underdogs for any Six Nations game, but they’re way out at 6/1 for this one. The price is alluring but there’s not much going in the favour of Steve Borthwick’s men.

    With some teams in FA Cup action and an international break on the horizon, there’s not much Premier League football around for the next few weeks. However, with a few games underway this weekend, BestOfBets previews the action and there’s some interesting games to be played.

    Southampton vs Tottenham, Saturday 15 March @ 3pm

    Whatever you’re backing when you bet on Southampton versus Spurs on Saturday afternoon, don’t back goals. Ruben Selles has certainly given the Saints a solid base since he was appointed to replace the chaotic Nathan Jones; they’ve conceded just three goals in their past five league games. But at the other end, goals have been hard to come by, scoring seven in all competitions since the middle of January.
    Antonio Conte’s Spurs are hardly known for their free-flowing football either, so it could be a tricky watch at St Mary’s this weekend. Tottenham’s Champions League exit to AC Milan prompted calls for Conte to be dismissed, although the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend lifted some of the pessure.
    Spurs are so inconsistent and Saints really need a result, so a draw might be the best bet for this one. A Tottenham win at 3/4 isn’t very generous and the home win, although appealing at 15/4, just isn’t very likely.

    Chelsea vs Everton, Saturday 15 March @ 5.30pm

    It feels like Graham Potter is finally building something promising at Chelsea. The Champions League knockout victory over Borussia Dortmund was a real shot in the arm and it was sandwiched by morale-boosting league wins over Leeds and Leicester. New signings Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix and co are flickering into life as well.
    Who better to spoil the Potter progress, then, than Sean Dyche and his gnarly Everton team? The former Burnley boss has prompted an upturn in results at Goodison Park, but they’re still very much mired in the relegation scrap and in desperate need of results.
    An Everton win on Saturday evening is a long shot at 11/2, the draw is a chance at 7/2, but it’s probably best to play it safe and back the in-form Blues.

    Arsenal vs Crystal Palace, Sunday 16 March @ 2pm

    Arsenal can really steal a march on Manchester City in the title race this weekend, with Pep Guardiola’s side – and Manchester United – in FA Cup action.
    The Gunners have shown some real fortitude in recent weeks, battling past Bournemouth with a late winner and then producing a magical display to see off Fulham. But there’s no resting on laurels for Mikel Arteta’s side, especially after the shock sacking of former Arsenal favourite Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace, which may jolt the Eagles into life.
    Palace aren’t exactly in fluent form – they’ve drawn a blank in four successive matches, hence Vieira getting the boot – although they nearly derailed City’s title bid last Saturday before Erling Haaland’s late penalty. Arsenal are the wise bet here, mind, and should win to nil to compound a bad week for Palace.

    Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

    The 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was the first-ever Formula 1 race held in Saudi Arabia. It was held on the Jeddah Street Circuit, a brand-new street circuit that is 6.175 kilometers in length and has 27 corners. The race was the penultimate round of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship, and it attracted a lot of attention from motorsport fans around the world.

    The Jeddah Street Circuit was designed to be one of the fastest street circuits in the world, with an average speed of around 250 km/h. It featured a number of challenging corners and long straights, making it a true test of skill and bravery for the drivers. The circuit was also quite narrow, which added an extra element of danger to the race.

    The weekend got off to a dramatic start, with several drivers crashing during practice sessions. The most notable of these crashes was the one involving Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who hit the wall hard during the second practice session. Verstappen was able to walk away from the crash unharmed, but his car was badly damaged and the Red Bull team had to work hard to get it ready for qualifying.

    In qualifying, it was Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas who took pole position, setting a blistering lap time of 1:25.017. His teammate Lewis Hamilton qualified second, just 0.166 seconds behind. Verstappen, despite his earlier crash, was able to qualify in third place.

    On race day, the atmosphere was electric as fans gathered around the Jeddah Street Circuit to watch the first-ever Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. As the lights went out, Bottas got a good start and led into turn one. Hamilton, however, got a better start and was able to overtake Bottas into turn two. Verstappen, meanwhile, got a poor start and dropped back to fifth place.

    As the race progressed, Hamilton was able to build a small lead over Bottas, while Verstappen began to make his way through the field. He passed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and McLaren’s Lando Norris to move up to third place, and then set his sights on Bottas in second.

    On lap 43, Verstappen made his move on Bottas, overtaking him into turn one. Bottas tried to fight back, but Verstappen was too quick and held onto the position. From there, Verstappen set his sights on Hamilton in first place, who had built up a lead of around five seconds.

    Despite his best efforts, Verstappen was unable to catch Hamilton, who took the chequered flag to win the first-ever Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Verstappen finished second, while Bottas completed the podium in third place. Norris finished in fourth place, while Leclerc completed the top five.

    The race was not without its controversies, however. On lap 48, Verstappen was deemed to have gained an advantage by cutting a corner, and he was given a five-second time penalty. This dropped him back to third place, behind Bottas. Verstappen was not happy with the decision, and he made his feelings known after the race.

    Overall, the first-ever Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was a thrilling race that showcased the skill and bravery of the world’s best drivers. The Jeddah Street Circuit proved to be a challenging and exciting track, and it is sure to become a popular venue for motorsport fans around the world. With the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix already confirmed, it is clear that Formula 1 is committed to expanding its presence in the Middle East, and we can look forward to many more exciting races in the years to come.

    Tuesday – Champion Hurdle

    The feature race on the opening day of Cheltenham Festival is the Grade 1 Champion Hurdle. This race is open to horses age 4+ and is run over eight jumps over a distance of two miles and a furlong.  

    2021 and 2022 winner Honeysuckle will be running the Mares’ Hurdle as hot favourite Constitution Hill, who should win this race at a canter (1/3), was said to me too much for the nine year old mare to take on.

    Wednesday – Champion Chase

    The Grade 1 Champion Chase is the feature race on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival. It is a steeplechase that is open to horses aged five or older and is competed over a distance of two miles with 13 fences to be jumped.

    This could be one of the most exciting races of the week as the fallout from the Clarence House will be settled. Can Editeur Du Gite upset again or will Energumene and Edwardstone reverse the result?

    Thursday – Stayers’ Hurdle

    The Grade 1 Stayers’ Hurdle is the feature race on day three of the Cheltenham Festival. The three-mile test of stamina over 12 hurdles will expose any horses that lack the staying power to get up the famous hill finish.

    Friday – Cheltenham Gold Cup

    The most prestigious race is the Grade 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup run on the fourth and final day of the Festival. It is run on the new course over a distance of three miles two and a half furlongs, and there are a total of 22 fences to be jumped.

    Later this year looks to be one of the most competitive Gold Cups we have had for a while.

    Galopin Des Champs looks unbeatable. Visually, he’s spectacular and he is jumping better than he did last season. But Bravemansgame is also looking strong as ever so it’s a tough one to call. However, Paul Nicholls said that Bravemansgame ‘is the best since Denman’, which is rather telling.

    If there’s one team who can put another spanner in the works of Manchester City’s title charge, you feel it can be Crystal Palace.

    Patrick Vieira’s side aren’t in scintillating form right now, but under the Saturday night lights at Selhurst Park, sitting deep and frustrating Man City, you feel they have a real chance of a result this weekend. City have only won five of their past 10 meetings with Palace since New Year’s Eve 2017. The Eagles have been a constant thorn in Pep Guardiola’s side and there’s no reason why they can’t sting them again.

    The bookies are fairly confident of a City win at 2/5. And 8/1 is long odds, even for Vieira’s inconsistent side. But the draw at 4/1 is an appealing flutter if you want to back an underdog in this week’s Premier League schedule.

    Manchester United sent the perfect message to their post-Anfield critics with a 4-1 demoltion of Real Betis on Thursday night. But to truly shake off the demons of last week’s 7-0 defeat to Liverpool, they must get back to winning ways in the Premier League as well. A home game against a relegation-threatened Southampton seems like the perfect opportunity.

    Saints have been slightly improved under the stewardship of Ruben Selles, with crucial 1-0 wins over Chelsea and Southampton of late, but they might just come up against a United team with something to prove. Just ask Bruno Fernandes.

    The bookies clearly think Erik ten Hag’s men will bounce back, with United 1/3 to grab the three points on Sunday. Southampton are 8/1 and the draw is 4/1, but the money might be on United to win to nil, given Saints aren’t exactly prolific in front of goal.

    Sean Dyche, however, will see this as the perfect chance to set up a smash and grab victory for Everton. The Toffees have won two and lost two since his appointment, showing off a much-improved defence. But goals are a problem for them, with main striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin out injured.
    This game screams ‘Forest to win to nil’, which is better value than the 17/10 being offered for a home win, or even a draw at 2/1. Everton are out at 7/4.
